A new boiler division usually meets its first customer on a phone screen, in a Maps result next to two or three competitors. The profile has to be legitimate under Google's rules, complete enough to win the comparison, and backed by reviews that come from real boiler jobs. We set it up and teach your team the routine that keeps it growing.
We're a marketing service for HVAC and heating companies. We are not an HVAC contractor, and nothing on the profile should claim work or credentials your team doesn't have.
What it is
Depending on your brand structure, one of two jobs:
- Separate brand: a new, verified profile for the division, set up to match its real name, signage and website.
- Sub-brand or existing name: reworking your current profile so boiler services, photos and categories are obvious, plus posts and Q&A that speak to boiler buyers.
What Google's guidelines mean for a second brand
The short answer: a second profile is allowed only when the division genuinely operates as its own public-facing business. Google's guidelines for representing your business say, in summary:
- separate brands at one location shouldn't be combined into a single profile, and independent brands may each have their own
- a department can have its own profile if it operates as a distinct entity, with a different name and a different primary category from the main business
- the name must match the real-world name used on signage, the website and stationery, with no keywords or town names stuffed in
- service-area businesses should hide their address and list the areas they serve
In practice, that means a division that is only a name on a web page is unlikely to qualify for its own profile. If it has its own name on vans, invoices and the website, its own phone number and its own staff, it's a much stronger case. We check your setup against the current guidelines before creating anything, because a suspended profile in launch month is a hard setback.
What's included
- a check of your structure against Google's current guidelines, with a recommendation
- profile setup or rework: name, primary and secondary categories, service area, hours, services list
- a photo plan using your own jobs, vans and team
- a review routine: who asks, when, and the template message they send
- a monthly Q&A and posts schedule for boiler topics in season
- citation clean-up so the division's name, phone and website match everywhere
Timeline
- Weeks 1–2: guideline check, setup or rework, verification request.
- Weeks 2–6: photos, services and first posts; review routine starts with the first completed jobs.
- Months 3–12: monthly upkeep, review pace tracking, seasonal posts ahead of heating season.
How results are measured
Calls and direction requests from the profile, tracked separately from the website number, plus the number of new reviews per month from boiler jobs. We compare the division's visibility for a short list of boiler searches in your main towns each quarter. We don't promise rankings; we report what moved.
GasBoilers.ca, the gas-boiler division built for CANRO Heat, holds 5.0★ from 76+ Google reviews. That number reflects real customers over time, which is the only way a division's review count grows. BCWide.ca shows how fast basics can move when they're done properly: 3× leads in 90 days.
Mistakes to avoid
- Keyword-stuffing the name. "Smith Boilers Repair Installation Toronto" invites suspension. Use the real name.
- Moving reviews. You can't transfer reviews from your main profile, and asking old customers to re-review the new brand for unrelated jobs is misleading.
- A virtual office address. Profiles at addresses you don't operate from are a common reason for suspension.
- Forgetting the main profile. Your main listing should still mention that you offer boiler work, linking to the division where appropriate.
The profile works best with a division website behind it and the first-year sequence setting the order. Questions? Contact us.
Frequently asked questions
Can a boiler division have its own Google Business Profile at our address?
Sometimes. Google's guidelines allow separate profiles for independent brands and for departments that operate as distinct public-facing entities, with a different name and a different primary category. Whether your division qualifies depends on how it actually operates, so we check that before creating anything.
How do we get reviews for a brand-new division?
By asking every completed boiler customer, every time, through a simple message your team sends after the job. There is no shortcut. Buying reviews, swapping them, or moving reviews from your main profile breaks Google's rules and can get a profile suspended.
Should we show our shop address?
Only if customers can visit it during your posted hours. Google's guidelines say service-area businesses should hide their address and set a service area instead. Many HVAC shops are hybrids, so we set this up to match how you really operate.
How quickly does a new profile show up in Maps?
Verification can take days or longer, and ranking builds with reviews, photos and activity over months. Paid search usually carries the division in the meantime.
